Press Release: Bringing Back Local Radio. Lincs Sound to Launch in Lincolnshire

Wednesday 4th June 2025

Local radio is making a comeback in Lincolnshire.

Today marks the official announcement that Lincs Sound, a brand-new online radio station dedicated to Lincolnshire and its communities, is coming to Lincolnshire. With a passionate team and a strong local focus, Lincs Sound is here to celebrate everything Lincolnshire has to offer - its people, places, stories, and businesses.

At a time when many traditional local stations have lost their regional identity, Lincs Sound is proudly ensuring that Lincolnshire has its own local radio station.

The station promises familiar voices, local stories, and a strong commitment to what matters most to the county. Whether it's the latest from the high street, community events, or local sports, Lincs Sound will be there—loud, proud, and local.

Katie Trinder, one of the founders of Lincs Sound. “That’s why we’re not just a radio station—we’re a platform for Lincolnshire, by Lincolnshire. And we want you to help shape it.”

Listeners will be encouraged to share their ideas, submit content, and get involved in shaping the station’s future. From community contributors to local musicians, Lincs Sound aims to become a hub of creative energy and grassroots connection.

The station will also serve as a home for local businesses looking for affordable and effective advertising. “We know how important it is for small businesses to get their message out effectively and affordably,” said Katie. “Lincs Sound offers a new way to reach local audiences without breaking the bank.”

Listeners will be able to hear the voices of some familiar presenters who have served Lincolnshire across the years. Eddie Shaw will be taking on the afternoon show, said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the all-new Lincs Sound. After 17 years presenting the afternoon show on Lincs FM, I’m looking forward to our new station being a true voice of the community, connecting people, stories, and music for Lincolnshire."

The Lincs Sound schedule will feature voices who have broadcast across Lincolnshire and will be familiar to listeners, as well as some fresh new ones. Katie said, “We are thrilled to have presenters with the calibre of Eddie Shaw, Steve Orchard, Andy Fenton, Alex B Cann, Ellie Codling, Joe Sentance, and Drew Baxter as part of our team. These are presenters who come with a wealth of knowledge and connections to Lincolnshire. As the station progresses, we will be looking to add to our presenting team and want to be able to nurture new talent.”

Lincs Sound is now streaming online, and via the app, making it easy for listeners across the county—and beyond—to tune in anytime, anywhere.

Lincs Sound will launch on Monday, 30th June, with the station going on DAB later in the year.
